An 86-year-old man from Ipswich who was reported missing to police earlier today has been found safe and well.
Wilhelm Thiebes, who lives with dementia and only speaks German but understands English, was last seen at his home address in Malmesbury Close around 9.45am this morning.
A media appeal to help find Mr Thiebes was issued by Suffolk Constabulary and it has just been confirmed that he was found this afternoon in the town centre.
A force spokesman said officers had been concerned for his welfare and asked anyone who had seen Wilhelm to contact Suffolk police.
This afternoon he added: “Officers would like to thank the media and members of the public for their assistance with this appeal.”
