A 39-YEAR-OLD violent prisoner who absconded from Hollesley Bay has been found dead at his home in Stowmarket.Investigations are now under way to discover the reason behind Paul Fleet's death, however it is believed he had taken an overdose of drugs.

A 39-YEAR-OLD violent prisoner who absconded from Hollesley Bay has been found dead at his home in Stowmarket, it was revealed today.

Investigations are now under way to discover the reason behind Paul Fleet's death, however it is believed he had taken an overdose of drugs.

However, Suffolk police today said they would not be releasing the cause of Fleet's death after he was discovered at the property where he had lived in Fairfield Hill.

An inquest opened today at Coroner's Court, Shire Hall, in Bury St Edmunds.

Following a very short hearing the case was adjourned while further inquiries made and more details pieced together.

Paramedics discovered Fleet after they were called to his address.

Fleet was one of two men who absconded from Hollesley Bay open prison on March 26.

He left on the same day as Terry Glynn Waterman, 38, who was serving eight years for robbery.

The pair were discovered missing at 7.45am on March 27 after last being seen at about 8pm the day before.

Fleet was serving five years for wounding with intent while Waterman had been jailed for eight years for robbery.

Suffolk police had warned anyone who spotted either of the pair not to approach them but to alert officers immediately by dialling 999.

Fleet was described as white, 5ft 11in tall, with dark hair, brown eyes, a thin face and numerous tattoos. At the time police said he was understood to have connections to the Thetford area of Norfolk.

Waterman, who has connections to Tilbury in Essex, is white, 5ft 11in tall, of medium build, with brown hair and brown eyes.
