A BODY has been found after a swimmer disappeared off Cromer pier.
Coastguards recovered the body at 12.20am following a major rescue operation which involved five lifeboats and a helicopter.
A man in his 30s went missing after being spotted climbing around the pier legs at about 6.10pm yesterday.
The man was seen getting into difficulty by lifeboat officials who were on the pier at the time.
Cromer inshore and offshore boats were joined by others from Mundesley and Sheringham and a Sea King helicopter, along with the offshore boat's two-man “Y” boat, searching an area as far as Trimingham to the east and nearly a mile out to sea.
