MONEY is still rolling in for the Evening Star appeal to pay for the training of a guide dog puppy.

Little Star - who is growing bigger every day - has been out and about meeting school children and various groups from the area who are offering her support.

Puppy walker Penny Parker took Star along to meet children from Rosehill Primary in Ipswich and also the Rainbows group at Martlesham Heath.

Mrs Parker said it was great to be able to tell the youngsters about the role Star would play in life - being the eyes for a blind or visually-impaired person.

“The youngsters were very interested and I think seeing Star for themselves really brings it home for them,” she said.

“We have had lots of support from schools and youth groups and that has been fabulous.”

The appeal is aiming to raise £10,000, the cost of breeding and training a Guide Dogs for the Blind puppy.

If you would like to help the appeal, get in touch with Evening Star Felixstowe editor Richard Cornwell on 01394 284109.
