DUE to demand and to make it easier for residents to drop off their electric blankets some extra testing sessions have been laid on at the three main fire stations of Ipswich, Bury and Lowestoft.

These are "open sessions" so residents can turn up any time between 9.30 and 4pm and either drop off their blankets or wait while they are tested.

Ipswich Fire Station will be open to residents for free testing tomorrow from 9.30am to 4pm

Next week (8-12 October) Bury St Edmunds Fire Station will be open all week for residents, again 9.30am to 4pm

The week after (15-19 October) Lowestoft Fire Station will be open all for residents, again 9.30am to 4pm

During the final week (22nd - 26 October) Ipswich Fire Station will be open for residents, again 9.30am to 4pm

These new open sessions are operating in addition to the existing timetable for dropping off blankets at fire stations across the county.

A further development is that residents with blankets which are 'condemned' for safety reasons will be offered a choice of either a £5 high street voucher off a new blanket or a voucher offering 50% off a new blanket bought by mail order.
