A MOTORCYCLIST sustained head injuries today after he was involved in a collision at a Suffolk accident blackspot.

The crash on the B1456 between The Freston Boot pub and Freston crossroads, cut off the Shotley peninsula from about 7.45am.

Traffic was blocked in both directions until 8.40am, when the way was cleared for cars heading into Ipswich. But tailbacks remained in the opposite direction, with traffic stacked up along the Strand.

A police spokeswoman said the man had been riding a Kawasaki 400ZXR which was in collision with a blue Citroen Saxo.
