A man who was flown to Addenbrooke’s Hospital after a crash in Ipswich suffered life-changing injuries to his back.
Police provided an update on the motorcyclist’s condition this morning as they continued their appeal for witnesses to the collision, which happened shortly before 11.50am yesterday.
The crash saw the motorbike rider collide with a parked car in Heatherhayes on the Stoke Park estate.
An East Anglian Air Ambulance was sent to help alongside a volunteer critical care paramedic from Suffolk Accident Rescue Service (SARS).
Crash investigators shut the road for several hours while recovery work was carried out at the scene.
Initial reports suggested the man had suffered potentially life-threatening injuries.
This morning, police said they believe his injuries were life-changing instead as he sustained a serious back injury.
Further updates on his condition are expected later today, a police spokesman said.
• Any witnesses to the crash should call police on 101.
