A THREE-car collision left several motorists injured and busy afternoon traffic facing hold-ups today.
The collision happened on London Road in Ipswich between the Tesco supermarket and the Copdock interchange during the afternoon rush hour.
It involved a blue Ford Focus estate, a red Rover 214 and a grey Ford Mondeo estate. Suffolk police said all the motorists involved were from the Ipswich area.
Two women who had been travelling in one of the cars suffered minor back and neck injuries while the other injuries reported were also said to be minor.
The collision happened at 5.05pm, causing police to initially predict the crash would cause severe congestion in the area.
However the cars were quickly moved off the road and, while there was some congestion as a result, officers said they were able to keep it to a minimum.
Both lanes of traffic were moving freely soon after the accident and the road was fully cleared by just after 6.30pm.
