The lookalike from Felixstowe will be in Ipswich town centre at lunchtime on October 28 to build the excitement in the lead up to the region’s premier musical fireworks display next weekend.

Mr Has Bean said: “Come and have your picture taken with me, Teddy and Guy Fawkes. Look forward to seeing you there!”

The character helped to support the event last year with his good friend Teddy and was a big hit with shoppers.

This year he will be pitted against a larger than life Guy Fawkes, which has been put together by the team behind the Big Heads of Harwich Carnival.

The display, which is run by the 11th Ipswich Scout Group, will take place on November 4 in Christchurch Park and is the 46th annual fireworks event.

Gates will open at 6pm with a funfair, food stands and a licensed bar all on offer in the build up to the event.

The big display itself will take place at 8pm, with festivities to continue until 10pm.

Before the fireworks begin a number of entertainment acts will take to the stage including East Anglia’s premier soul and funk band Soul Riot, local female vocalist Chelsea Francis and award winning Essex and Suffolk choir Funky Voices. Ipswich’s own indie band, The Naked French, will be making their debut appearance at the event.

As well as singers there will also be dance acts in the form of a showcase from the Emma Dodd School of Performing Arts, who are based at Kesgrave Community Centre.

An exciting fire performance will also come from troupe Tri Fie R who hope to help light up the night with their performance.

Money raised at the event helps to support a number of local charities as well as the Scout group themselves who are based in the Castle Hill area of the town.

Advanced tickets for the event are already on sale for £4.50 for children and £6.50 for adults at a number of venues around Ipswich including the East of England Co-op stores, the Fancy Dress Hut, Hughes and McColl’s.

Tickets will also be available to purchase on the gate, at £8 for adults and £6 for children.
