FUMING mum Shelly Smith has hit out at youngsters who stole her young son's bike.

Brave 11-year-old Levi Behan even ran after the boy who was seen riding off on the bike he had left outside a Kesgrave shop.

But so far the Saracen Dual Suspension bike, worth around £300 has not been found.

The bike was stolen as Levi left Kesgrave High School on Wednesday. He went to the Happy Shopper on Main Road and left his bike outside.

Ms Smith from Saddlers Place, Martlesham Heath, said: "There were some older kids around 16 or 17 hanging around outside the shop.

"When he came out he saw one of them riding off on his bike.

"He rang me from someone's mobile phone, he was devastated."

The bike was a special Christmas presents brought by his grandparents.

Ms Smith said: "I was angry with him for not locking it up but more than that I am disgusted that people take the attitude 'it's lying there so I can have it.'"

Suffolk police have been informed and are now investigating the theft.

Anyone who has seen the bike or has information should call Suffolk police on 01473 613500.
