A DEVASTATED mother has appealed to thieves to return her bag which contained irreplaceable details of her baby son.

Justine Ruggles of Polstead said she was left absolutely gutted when the bag was stolen in Felixstowe Road, Ipswich.

The 30-year-old had been visiting a friend with her seven-month-old son Luke at around 3pm on Wednesday when the bag was snatched from the driveway as she strapped the baby into the car.

As well as photographs, a diary and vouchers the bag also contained a baby book called the Personal Child Health Record which is given to all new mothers as well as 30 sponsorship money little Luke had raised by swimming through a hoop under water.

Often referred to as the “Red Book”, the baby book features heights, weights, immunisations, illnesses and accidents.

Ms Ruggles who is Head of Commercial Development for the Prince's Trust said: “The first feeling was sheer panic.

“My whole life was in the bag, including photographs, a diary, and vouchers I was saving for my birthday. I'm frustrated and angry, but it's my baby book that I'm most upset about.”

“I'll never be able to get it back. To be honest I'm absolutely gutted.”

Ms Ruggles made an emotional plea to those who took her bag and is willing to offer a reward for its safe return.

The bag is turquoise and dark grey and is made by Silver Cross.
