A SUFFOLK cyclist who was knocked off her bike by a vehicle in Ipswich is appealing for the driver or witnesses to come forward.

Valerie Frost was on her way to work in the town centre last Tuesday when she was struck by a blue car by the roundabout near Felaw Maltings on Wherstead Road.

Although the young driver and passenger stopped to help, the mum of three – who had been knocked unconscious in the accident – was so shaken up she didn't take down their details.

"I was on my way to work at Upper Brook Street at 9 am," said the 37-year-old from Holbrook.

"There were two young lads in the car both under 20 years. They were turning right on the roundabout to double back and go into town. The car hit me on the side and knocked me out."

The driver parked on the other side of the road to ask Mrs Frost if she was OK.

"They told me they were sorry, but didn't see me. I was a little confused and just remember thinking I had to go and see my manager. I had concussion and was in shock."

Still dazed got back on her bike and went into work at P & O in Upper Brook Street, Ipswich, where colleagues drove her to hospital.

"The young lads drove off at a heck of a speed and didn't give their details," she said. "I wasn't thinking straight to try and get them. But it wasn't a hit and run or anything like that because they did stop and help."

The vehicle was R registered and the driver and passenger were thought to be around 18 or 19 years old.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact PC Hodgeson at Ipswich Police Station on 383100.
