A MURDER investigation has been launched after the death of a man from north Essex.
A 54-year-old man died after reportedly being assaulted in a house in Halstead on Sunday and being taken to Colchester General Hospital with serious head injuries.
An 18-year-old man, from Halstead, has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is being questioned by police.
Police were alerted to the incident after a call from a woman at around 6.30pm, who said the victim, also of Halstead, had been assaulted at a house in Dooley Road.
