POLICE were questioning a 34-year-old man last night after a woman was found dead at an address in Suffolk.

Officers discovered the body of Jacqueline Tindsley at her home in The Hemplands, Lowestoft, at 7am yesterday morning. The 55-year-old had been suffocated.

The 34-year-old man, who is also of Lowestoft, was arrested in connection with the inquiry and was being held at the town's police station last night.

Following the discovery of Ms Tindsley's body, a Home Office pathologist carried out a post-mortem examination at the James Paget Hospital in Gorleston and found the cause of death was asphyxiation.

Police, who were called to The Hemplands after a 999 call from Ms Tindsley's address, said her death was being treated as murder.
