ONE of the biggest selling singers in history will be heading to Ipswich this summer it has been announced.
Rod Stewart has become the latest big name act to put the Portman Road stadium on his tour list.
The star has chosen Ipswich as one of just six places he will visit during June and July next year.
The decision by the internationally famous singer to perform in Ipswich is another step towards the town becoming a major music destination and follows a series of high profile concerts at Portman Road in recent years.
This year saw the Red Hot Chili Peppers kick start their UK summer tour in Ipswich while American rockers the Foo Fighters chose the town to host a one-off acoustic gig at the Regent Theatre.
Tickets for Rod's concert on July 3 go on sale on Friday.
Don't miss tomorrow's Evening Star for full details of the concert and ticket sales.
