MUSIC fans can look forward to a feast of stars heading this way after Radio 1 today announced the line-up One Big Sunday.

Pop, rock, dance and RnB are all on the menu with Aussie singer Natalie Imbruglia revealed as one of the biggest names set to appear when the event arrives in town on July 14.

She will be joined by Idlewild, Kosheen, Liberty X and Ms Dynamite for the afternoon of live music - and the line-up of acts is set to grow before the event reaches town.

Sara Cox made the announcement live on the Radio 1 breakfast show this morning and Ipswich is now gearing up to welcome the tens of thousands of music fans who will converge on Chantry Park to see the stars for free in just over two weeks time.

The musical spectacular, which brought Five, All Saints, Texas and Emma Bunton to town two years ago, will be broadcast live on the radio station from 2pm to 4pm. It will also be webcast live on the station's website.

DJs Jamie Theakston, Trevor Nelson and Mark and Lard will present the show and provide extra entertainment for everyone watching and listening.

Meanwhile DJ Nemone will warm up the crowd before it takes to the airwaves and Lisa Snowdon will present a televised broadcast of the show on BBC Choice on July 21 which will include exclusive backstage interviews.

Natalie Imbruglia first made her name as Beth in Australian soap, Neighbours, a role she played for two years. After leaving the show she turned her attention to music and was signed to RCA.

In 1998 her debut single, Torn, became a smash hit, reaching number one in the charts and selling more than a million copies in the UK. It was followed by the release of her hugely successful debut album, Left of the Middle. Earlier this year she returned with album number two, White Lilies Island, and the accompanying single, Wrong Impression. The antipodean star's latest single, Beauty On The Fire, is due for release at the end of July.

Idlewild came together in 1996 when members Roddy Woomble, Rod Jones, Bob Fairfoull and Colin Newton met at a party in Edinburgh and discovered a shared passion for bands like Sonic Youth. They packed in their college courses shortly afterwards to concentrate on their music, which draws on influences including REM and Nirvana.

They have toured with the likes of Catatonia, Travis, Placebo and the Manic Street Preachers but are fast making a name for themselves as a band of equal stature. Their last album, 100 Broken Windows, was released two years ago but now they're back with a new recording, The Remote Part, which is due for release the day after their appearance in Ipswich.

Fans of breakbeat and drum & bass will be familiar with Kosheen who have enjoyed chart success with their singles Hungry, Hide U and Catch. Their album Resist has been equally well received and the trio - Markee Substance, Darren Decoder and Sian Evans - are in the running for two awards - album of the year and best breakbeat act - and next week's Dancestar Awards in London.

Pop lovers will be in for a treat with a performance by Liberty X who have not looked back since their televised rejection on the show Popstars. They were labelled failures for not making it into Hear'Say but recently proved their doubters wrong when their third single, Just A Little, shot straight to the top of the charts. Jessica, Kelli, Michelle, Tony and Kevin are signed to Richard Branson's V2 label and with a successful debut album also under their belts are destined for great things in the world of pop.

Their appearance at Radio 1's One Big Sunday will be followed by a return to town a month later when they will perform at the Party in the Dark pop spectacular at the Corn Exchange on August 9 alongside allSTARS, 3SL and a host of other pop acts.

Completing the current line-up at Ipswich's One Big Sunday is Ms Dynamite. The 21-year-old star is one of the hottest stars on the British urban music scene. Originally an MC, with garage influences, Ms Dynamite began singing on her tracks creating an RnB vibe which has created a buzz of excitement. Her album, A Little Deeper, was released earlier this month.

Together these five acts form the basis for a fantastic afternoon of entertainment and excitement and anticipation are set to build to bursting point over the next two weeks.

Radio 1's One Big Sunday shows are the station's annual mini-festivals which bring some of the biggest artists and bands live to audience for free. The first event was held in Swansea on June 16 where Destiny's Child, Will Young, Gareth Gates and Mis-Teeq were among the stars entertaining the crowd.

One Big Sunday comes to Chantry Park on July 14. The free show will be live on Radio 1 from 2pm to 4pm.
