A FELIXSTOWE man has been cleared of beating up his neighbour.

Victor Coates, 66, of Maidstone Road, walked free from Ipswich Crown Court after being found not guilty of assaulting Neil Parkins, causing him actual bodily harm and grievous bodily harm.

Coates had denied bursting into Mr Parkins' bathroom and punching and kicking him on June 16. He also denied standing behind a man who beat 37-year-old Mr Parkins with a baseball bat, shouting "Kill him," on June 30.

The jury found Coates not guilty within three hours of deliberating.
