QUICK-thinking neighbours battled in vain to try and stop a house from being gutted by fire today in Martlesham.The blaze broke out in Lark Rise just after 8.

QUICK-thinking neighbours battled in vain to try and stop a house from being gutted by fire today in Martlesham.
The blaze broke out in Lark Rise just after 8.30am in a family- sized semi-detached property.
The owner was not at home at the time the fire began.
He is thought to have been at work at BT in Martlesham where the heartbreaking news was broken to him.
