SUFFOLK'S new £1million medical centre that will serve the needs of more than 5,500 patients is due to be officially opened next week.
Parliamentary under secretary of state for health, David Lammy will unveil a commemorative plaque at the centre, in Heath Road, East Bergholt at 12.30pm on May 21.
The building, named the Constable Country Medical Centre, includes six consulting rooms with one large enough to accommodate training facilities for trainee GPs.
Funding for the centre was generated through a finance initiative between Medcentres plc and Central Suffolk Primary Care Trust.
The modern design embraces the latest in IT and is light and spacious.
As well as providing an extensive range of NHS services, the practise has also embraced alternative complimentary health service in four private rooms, which include counselling, chiropracor and holistic healer.
The centre has been used by patients since March 10.
