OPPONENTS of the massive SnOasis winter sports complex proposed for Great Blakenham today announced the formation of a new action group against it.

The SnOasis Community Alliance is made up of campaign group sNOasis Concern, the Suffolk Preservation Society and town and parish councils from the area.

The alliance will represent opponents of the £350million complex, which would include the world's biggest indoor ski slope, when a public inquiry begins on January 23.

The groups say they have joined forces and pooled their resources to level a unified legal battle against developers Onslow Suffolk who want to build SnOasis on the site of the former Mason's quarry.

Keith Willetts, sNOasis Concern chairman, said: “Being actively involved and fully represented at the inquiry is a major undertaking for local people.

“Joining forces with other like-minded groups makes a lot of sense and will ensure a unified opposition to the applications, as they stand, at the inquiry.”
