Eager customers gathered at Anglia Retail Park in Ipswich on Friday morning in a bid to be one of the first few through the doors at the new B&M store.
The store was officially opened at 9am where Ipswich deputy mayor Roger Fern cut the ribbon alongside volunteers at Lighthouse Women’s Aid.
Staff had gathered by the front of the store for the occasion, before opening the doors to those waiting to be the first customers.
The store has created more than 90 new jobs for the area.
Store manager Ashley Wheelhouse praised the hard work of his staff, and added: “The team from Lighthouse really stood out for us as they go the extra mile for the community, we wanted to give them some VIP treatment as a thank you for all the hard work they do.”
The store is Ipswich’s fourth B&M, alongside existing units at Copdock, Ransomes Europark and Carr Street.
