A NEW era began today for beer distribution in Ipswich with the opening of the new warehouse on the Whitehouse industrial estate.
The new distribution centre for Ridleys, incorporating Tolly Cobbold, opened for business today after a frantic weekend on the site.
"We've been there all weekend moving the stock from Cliff Quay. It has all gone remarkably well and we're now up and running," said Bob Wales, now commercial director of Ridleys.
The company's managing director Brian Field was on hand to watch the first beer leave the centre today – but Mr Wales said the Tolly name would remain on its distribution lorries for some time.
