TWO new faces have been added to the Ipswich Hospital NHS Trust Board. Elizabeth Harlaar and Anthony Schur, have taken the positions of non-executive directors.

TWO new faces have been added to the Ipswich Hospital NHS Trust Board.

Elizabeth Harlaar and Anthony Schur, have taken the positions of non-executive directors.

Elizabeth Harlaar is chairman of the Eastern Region Community Fund (formerly the National Lottery Charities Board) and has more than 20 years experience as a senior manager in the public, private, voluntary and military sectors.

She runs a successful business development consultancy in Suffolk. This includes working with the Cabinet Office Women and Equality Unit to encourage women's participation in public appointments.

Ms Harlaar from Bacton, near Stowmarket, is also a volunteer manager at the Royal International Air Tattoo, the world's largest military air show to raise funds for the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund.

Anthony Schur is treasurer of the Immigration Advisory Service and is in practice as a chartered accountant.

As well as having almost 30 years experience in the world of finance Mr Schur also joined the Overseas Civil Service when he graduated from Oxford University and worked as a district officer in rural parts of Zambia.

Mr Schur from Woodbridge, is a governor of Holywells High School and Belstead School.

Ms Harlaar and Mr Schur will each receive £5,294 remuneration for their role as a non-executive director of an NHS Trust. Ms Harlaar is not affiliated to any political party. Mr Schur is a member of the Liberal Democrat Party. Neither have any other ministerial appointments.
