Buses will continue to operate to Ipswich’s new park and ride centres every evening – that’s the promise from new operators First Eastern Counties.

The normal service to the parks at Copdock Mill and Martlesham Heath will run at 15-minute intervals between 7am and 7pm when the company takes it over at the start of July.

But there will also be one bus an hour to each destination during the evening so park and ride can be used by people to return home after a night out.

Some Superoute 66 buses will be diverted via the Martlesham park and there will be a limited number of evening buses to Copdock.

David Jordan, marketing manager at First Eastern Counties, said: “Ipswich Park and Ride has been operating since 1997, and we believe the ‘refresh’ will be well received by customers present and new when it is unveiled on July 3.”

The first new bus will be revealed at the Suffolk Show.
