SUFFOLK police and The Evening Star will be putting up new posters in Ipswich town centre this weekend appealing for information about the disappearance of two prostitutes.

The Star launched a campaign with posters in a bid to find 19-year-old Tania Nicol who failed to come home on October 30.

So when 25-year-old Gemma Adams also went missing from the town centre, on November 15, we decided to issue new posters adding her details.

The 500 new posters, which have been printed with the help of DNA Printing Solutions, will be displayed around the town in a bid to bring in more information to trace the whereabouts of the women.

Star editor Nigel Pickover said he hopes the posters will help police further in their investigation.

He said: “The first poster was very well received by people who saw it and for that reason we decided to issue a new one appealing for information about Gemma Adams' whereabouts as well as Tania Nicol's.

“The original poster went all around the town and we intend to do the same with this new one asking anybody with information to come forward.

“The news about these women's disappearances is both shocking and mysterious and we will do everything we can to help their families and the police.”

Simon Stevens, of Ipswich police, said: “Our enquiries continue in trying to trace the two girls.

“We would like to thank The Star for producing these posters and we hope they will jog people's memories which could lead to new information coming to us.”

Tania Nicol, who lives with her mother in Woolverstone Close, west Ipswich, left her home around 10pm on October 30 and has not been seen since.

The last time she was seen she was wearing a black jacket, cut-off blue jeans and high-heeled shoes.

Gemma Adams, of Blenheim Road, was last seen at 1.15am on November 15 near to the BMW garage in West End Road.

She is white, 5ft 2ins, slim with long blonde hair and a spotty complexion.

She was last seen wearing a black waist-length hooded jacket, light blue jeans, a red top and white and chrome Nike trainers.

She has several gold earrings in each ear, silver rings on both hands and she wears a black watch.
