IPSWICH-based KeConnect Internet, has launched a new low-cost corporate text messaging service for business users called KeText.

The new service allows text messages to be sent direct from an office-based PC or laptop to the mobile phones of colleagues who are away from the office on business.

Robert Kemp, managing director of KeConnect said: "Keeping in touch while out of the office has become a prerequisite in today's busy commercial world. More often than not, calls to colleague's mobile phones occur at inconvenient times, often when they are driving or attending business meetings.

"KeText" is the discreet way to keep in touch and it has been specially developed by the team here at KeConnect. It's very simple to use. You simply type your message into your email program at your PC and press send. It's also safe as it reduces the possibility of calls being taken by colleagues while driving. Finally, information can be discreetly acquired while in business meetings, presentations or public places.

"We have also ensured that the service is low cost. There's no set up charge and users have the option of a £5 monthly fee or a £50 annual charge. The first 50 messages are free with each message thereafter costing just 15p within the UK. There's no limit to the number of phones that can be accessed and there are no hidden charges, regardless of messages using other supplier networks. All that's required is a special email address for each user, which will be directed to their mobile phone numbers. It's that simple and it's low cost."
