New Year lock-in for fraud charge man

A MAN accused of fraud will be behind bars for the New Year after being remanded in custody.

Matthew Lewis, formerly of Aster Road, Ipswich, is accused of stealing a debit card, cheque book and building society pass book.

A MAN accused of fraud will be behind bars for the New Year after being remanded in custody.

Matthew Lewis, formerly of Aster Road, Ipswich, is accused of stealing a debit card, cheque book and building society pass book.

He is also accused of fraudulently using the items to pay for accommodation at an Ipswich guest house.

At a hearing at South East Suffolk Magistrates Court the 24-year-old did not enter pleas to charges of theft and obtaining property by deception.

He was remanded in custody to appear at the same court on January 2.
