Gwent police today named a man found dead in woods after a shooting incident as 45-year-old Darren Williams of Cwmbran.
The news comes after a man went on the run after three women were injured in a shooting incident at a hairdressing salon in Newport city centre.
One woman was shot in the knee after the gunman went into Carol-Ann’s salon at about 2.20pm yesterday.
Another woman suffered an injury to the neck and a third was injured in the arm.
Police said they were not treating the man’s death as suspicious or looking for anyone in connection with it.
None of the injuries sustained in the salon are said to be life threatening and police would not confirm whether the second and third woman, whose injuries were described as minor, had been shot.
