The next stage of improvement work to Oak Meadow park in Kesgrave is to begin from Monday –with the new equipment set to be ready in time for the Easter holidays.
Kesgrave Town Council acquired the park last year after residents raised concerns over the safety and condition of the existing play equipment.
The all-weather football area was completed shortly before Christmas, with work on the outdoor gym equipment starting from Monday.
A town council spokeswoman said the gym equipment would be suitable for adults and teens to help keep fit for free, while a number of new pieces of play equipment including a zip line, toddler play unit and three bay swing for older children will also be ready for the Easter holidays.
The work has been funded by Suffolk Coastal District Council’s play space fund, Sport and Recreation in Kesgrave (SPARK), which funded the initial work, and the area’s district councillors.
