Nostalgia: Sinbads sharpen their swords for Ipswich Carnival
WE’RE in the final year of the 1980s in the latest instalment of our chronological look through The Star picture archives.
We are remembering the year 1989 and hope that these pictures spark some happy memories.
Among our latest pictures we have the Arabian float at the Ipswich Carnival; a junior chess tournament in Ipswich; clowns day at Handford Hall School and the presentation of hygiene awards at the Debenhams store in Ipswich - see the gallery above right.
We also have Shirts ‘n’ Skirts Country and Western group’s charity cheque presentation in 1989; Ipswich Fire Station Open Day; and a patchwork pictures exhibition in Ipswich.
Finally, we have a photo of customers from the King’s Head pub returning from a charity event.
Are you in any of these photos? Do you remember when they were taken?
As ever, if you have any memories you wish to share with Ipswich Star readers, send an e-mail to sharon.clark@archant.co.uk.
