The trial of a 21-year-old Ipswich man accused of causing grievous bodily harm and possessing a knife in a public place following an incident in Cardinal Park last month will take place in April next year.

Before Ipswich Crown Court yesterday, Wednesday November 8, for a plea and trial preparation hearing was Jewel Miah, of Moore Road, who pleaded not guilty to causing grievous bodily harm with intent to three males in Cecilia Street on October 6.

He also denied having a kitchen knife in Cecilia Street on the same date.

Miah was arrested after police were called to the scene of an incident in Cardinal Park, at around 3.10am on October 6.

Following Miah’s not guilty pleas to the four charges his case was adjourned until April next year for a trial.

No application for bail was made by his barrister, Steven Dyble, and Judge Rupert Overbury remanded Miah in custody.
