IT is thought that school days count among some of the best days of your lives.

Former classmates enjoyed re-living their Northgate school days almost 70 years on at annual get together on the outskirts of Ipswich.

The Northgate Old Girls class of 1933 and 1934 chatted over afternoon tea at the Kesgrave Community Hall and a bought from a charity stall for the Ipswich Animal Welfare Society.

Amy Lord appealed for other former classmates to get in touch and said: "We all enjoy our once a year get together to recall our school days and also to talk of what we are enjoying in our old days.

"We are all 84 or 85 years old and our numbers are decreasing as we have lost some of our classmates and others are not able to attend.

"Nevertheless we hope to continue our yearly get together for a few more years yet."

Four years ago the group were invited to Northgate School by headmaster Neil Watts and were given a guided tour of the new building and met up with current pupils.

Past pupils are invited to the next re-union. Telephone Amy Lord on Ipswich 622129 or Joan Wildon on 625507.
