RAIL passengers travelling from Ipswich to Norwich today suffered delays of around one hour when a locomotive broke down just north of Stowmarket.
The 2.30pm service from London suffered the delays and it caused knock-on delays for three other services. The 3pm, 3.30pm and 4pm services to Norwich were all delayed by around 30 to 40 minutes.
A spokesman for Anglia Railways said: "The locomotive had problems just north of Stowmarket and so another locomotive from Stowmarket was sent to rescue it.
"It was only passengers travelling from Ipswich to Norwich who would have experienced the delays."
