Nearly 60% of those who replied to our Ipswich town survey visit the town centre at least once a week – with 20% coming to the heart of the town on a daily basis.
But the view of many people is not that positive – more than two thirds of those visiting the town feel the mix of national names and inde-pendent stores is poor or very poor.
Only 5% think the town has a good mix, and the number saying it is “excellent” is only 1%.
Only 18% of those replying said they did the majority of their Christmas shopping in the town centre. The largest single proportion (37%) said they did their shopping
online.
