A tractor has broken down on the A14 in Nacton just after the Orwell Bridge.
The incident was reported to Suffolk Constabulary at 9.25am and one lane of the eastbound carriageway is blocked.
A police spokesman said the tractor driver was arranging their own recovery of the vehicle.
