The accident in Felixstowe Road, Ipswich, at the top of Bishop's Hill, saw one person taken to Ipswich Hospital by ambulance.
The cream-coloured First Eastern Counties Volvo bus was in collision with an F-reg blue Peugeot 205 at 8.38am.
A passenger phoned the emergency services from their mobile phone, and told police nobody was trapped.
The fire service also attended the scene as petrol was believed to have leaked across the road.
