An Ipswich sixth form raised hundreds of pounds today for Save the Children’s annual Christmas jumper fundraising campaign.
With over 2,250 students and staff, One sixth form attempted to beat the Christmas Jumper Day record for the most festive jumpers worn at one time, which stands at 1,297.
The charity’s campaign is in its third year and asks people around the UK to don their most garish and brightly-coloured jumpers and donate money.
Organiser Hadley Sharman said: “We were thrilled to raise £700.00 - it was a great effort and I’d like to thank everyone who supported this charity event.
“We didn’t quite break the record this year - but hopefully next year we will.”
Around 500 people donned their seasonal sweaters and one staff member even came dressed as a Christmas tree.
The students also put on a raffle that contributed almost £80 to the final total.
