POLICE have moved on two men filming on the Orwell Bridge after they were mistaken for suicide jumpers.

Numerous calls were said to have been logged with Suffolk Constabulary this afternoon after members of the public spotted two figures hovering over the side of the Orwell Bridge.

But once ambulance and police response vehicles had arrived at the bridge they discovered they were not preparing to jump and had a camera with them.

A police spokeswoman said: “We received a call from a member of the public concerning the safety of a man who was on the bridge by the eastbound carriageway. There was a car nearby as well.

“We received numerous calls.

“We spoke to two men who were making a film and moved them on.”

She added they were right on the very edge and it was dangerous for anybody to be that near the bridge.
