VANDALS are being hunted today after paint was splashed over a series of cars in two Ipswich roads – for the second time in just two weeks.

Several cars along Milden Road and Lavenham Road were hit in the latest raid, which comes just days after yobs vandalised 32 cars in the area.

For Leanne Pitts, of Lavenham Road, it is the second time her Smart car has been splashed with paint.

Once again, the 23-year-old was today still scrubbing the paint off her Smart car.

"I'm very annoyed. I actually thought that last time was a one-off but having spoken to people around it just seems that whoever is doing this has got their own little route set up.

"It seems the police don't seem to be particularly bothered about it because they don't seem to be doing anything."

Justine Newby, 28, of Milden Road, was also a victim of the hooligans.

She said: "The neighbours banged on the door and said everyone's car has been sprayed. Luckily my car was on the driveway and my sister's car was on the road.

"I've spent about an hour and a half trying to get it off and I had to spend £10 on some cleaning cream."

She called for closed circuit television to be installed in the street to stop it being hit again.

She said: "I was gobsmacked when I saw it. When my neighbour called, I came out and all the neighbours were out in the street scrubbing their cars.

"I could see all the cars had been done but there's nothing you can do about it. "One of the neighbours called the police but I'm not sure what they can do about it, short of putting CCTV down here.

"I feel powerless to stop it because what can you do?"

Brian Alderton attended his daughter's wedding yesterday and said the Mercedes car used to take the bride to church had been parked in the street for a short period of time.

"If we had left it here overnight, they would have probably got ours as well," said the 58-year-old, of Milden Road.

Charles Noble, 78, of Milden Road, does not own a car but he often warns his friends and family about parking in the road.

"There seems to be somebody against people parking in the road. It's not really necessary."

On May 9, mindless yobs sprayed orange paint on the sides of vehicles in Lavenham Road, Kestrel Road and Ashton Close.
