The trial of two men accused of being involved in an attack in Ipswich town centre on a homeless man who allegedly suffered stab wounds will take place in March next year.
Ryan Page and Jamie Phillips appeared at Ipswich Crown Court today via a prison video link for a plea and trial preparation hearing.
They both pleaded not guilty to wounding Benjamin Douglas with intent to do him grievous bodily harm on November 3.
Their trial will take place at Ipswich Crown Court during a two week warned list commencing March 12.
They were both remanded in custody.
The men were arrested following an incident in Ipswich town centre on the night of Friday, November 3.
Page and Phillips are both alleged to have taken part in an attack on rough sleeper, Ben Douglas, in St Stephen’s Church Lane.
Both 18-year-old Page and 26-year-old Phillips were residents of Cavendish Lodge supported accommodation, in Turret Lane, Ipswich, at the time of the alleged attack.
