Two men will appear together in court to face charges relating to the theft of items from a church.

Vasile Tecaru had been due to appear before magistrates for a case management hearing on Tuesday – but the hearing was adjourned to coincide with a second defendant, Ionut Avadanei.

Police arrested two men after they allegedly attempted to sell goods to a jewellers.

Avadanei, 19, of Crescent Road, Ipswich, was bailed to appear at magistrates’ court in Ipswich next Monday.

As well as being charged with receiving stolen silverware worth £5,000, Tecaru, 20, of Mountbatten Court, Ipswich, is also charged with attempted burglary in Barham between April 10 and 12 last year.

No pleas have been entered by either of the men, who are both due to appear before magistrates on Monday.
