A HOSPITAL today revealed it was reviewing security after two laptop computers were stolen from its premises.

Thieves broke into St Clements Hospital in Ipswich at some point between last Friday evening and Monday morning and stole the two laptops as well as a small amount of cash.
A spokesman for the hospital, in Foxhall Road, said no patient information was held on the computers, which instead contained training material. Suffolk police are now investigating.
Robert Nesbitt, spokesman at St Clements Hospital, said the thieves broke into a filing cabinet.
“We are reviewing our security and we are just pleased that staff followed procedures and did not put any patient information on the laptops.
“We do take security extremely seriously, especially patient information and it is something that is drilled into all staff and it is gratifying to know that the staff followed procedures to make sure that no information was on there.”

Along with the two Hewlett Packard Compaq laptops, a cash box and a small quantity of cash were also taken.
