THEATRE bosses have confirmed that today's opening pantomime performance at the Regent Theatre will go ahead.
The theatre has issued a statement following a fight at the Caribbean Club on Woodbridge Road in the early hours of this morning.
As a result of the incident, police have cordoned off a large area of Woodbridge Road, close to the theatre.
David Mansfield, general manager at the theatre, said: “The theatre has been inundated with calls from customers asking if the theatre is effected and whether today's opening pantomime performance is going ahead.
“I would just like to confirm that the opening performance of 'Jack and the Beanstalk' is still going ahead, although we would advise ticket holders to leave some extra time as the closure of Woodbridge Road is causing congestion.”
