BOSSES at Ipswich's Regent theatre have today pledged the show will go on despite concerns Strictly Come Dancing Star Letitia Dean maybe forced to miss pantomime performances.

With more than £250,000 of advance ticket sales, Miss Dean is to play the Fairy Godmother in the venue's production of Cinderella as well as appearing in the BBC hit show.

Theatre manager Hazel Clover said: “We will be watching with interest this weekend. I have been gripped by Letitia's progress and it's great she is doing so well.”

Miss Clover said the theatre's production team will face extra pressures if Letitia stays in the competition.

She added: “Letitia is an accomplished actress used to getting scripts the night before a performance. We have every confidence she will manage.”

Opening on Friday December 14 if Miss Dean remains in the competition she may have to miss a performance on December 15.

It is thought if she goes through she will combine pantomime rehearsals with Strictly Come Dancing partner Darren Bennett visiting her in Ipswich to practice routines.

Miss Clover added: “It's still a bit early to be too worried. This weekend will be crucial. We are already looking at contingency plans that will enable Letitia to meet her pantomime commitments and continue with Strictly Come Dancing. We will just have to wait and see.”
