Emergency services including paramedics are at the scene of a two-car crash in Felixstowe.

Police, fire and ambulance crews were sent to Manwick Road, close to its junction with Sea Road, shortly after 3.25pm today.

Paramedics and police officers are still at the scene but fire crews from Ipswich East and Princes Street stations were stood down.

They were initially sent over fears someone was trapped in their car but are now back at their stations.

The crash, between two cars, is blocking the road and emergency services were still at the scene as of 5pm.

A woman, believed to be in her 50s, was inside one of the cars and has been injured.

Paramedics are treating her for suspected neck and back pain and initial reports suggested she may have suffered a back injury.

It is not yet clear if her injuries are serious, but ambulance crews at the scene said she is conscious and breathing.

• Witnesses to the crash and anyone with information or dash cam footage should call police on 101 quoting CAD reference 281.
