It is alleged David Price of Brick Kiln Lane in Melton damaged telephone cables at Ellingers level crossing in Melton.
The 71-year-old is alleged to have cut the phone lines on September 10 2008.
At Ipswich Magistrates Court yesterday the date for Mr Price's trial was set for March 24.
