A FELIXSTOWE pensioner has been found guilty of indecently assaulting a ten-year-old boy.
Robert Johnston, 76, had denied cuddling the boy and trying to kiss him after the youngster called at his home to clean his car.
At an earlier hearing Johnston, of Ascot Drive, admitted lying to police over the amount of money he had given the boy, claiming he would have looked a "silly old fool" for parting with £35, instead of £5.
He claimed the boy had told him he was saving up to buy a birthday present for a relative.
He denied having squeezed the boy's bottom, sat him on his lap and told him he was beautiful. Johnston had also told the court his wife was disabled and was at home on the day of the alleged incident.
A jury found Johnston guilty of two offences of indecent assault.
He signed the sex offender register provisionally and will return to court for sentencing on November 18.
