AN ELDERY woman was the victim of a distraction burglary in Ipswich and police are warning people to remain vigilant.
AN ELDERY woman was the victim of a distraction burglary in Ipswich and police are warning people to remain vigilant.
The 96-year-old woman answered the door at her home in Landseer Road at about 1pm on Friday.
A man was on her doorstep and asked to check her pipes.
He took her in to the kitchen before taking her out in to the rear garden.
A second male is then believed to have entered her bungalow and made a tidy search of her property stealing cash, a chequebook and a bankcard.
The first offender is described as between 40 and 50 years old, about 5ft 6, medium build, with short hair. He was clean shaven and was wearing a sleeveless fluorescent jacket with a long sleeved top underneath.
Police officers investigating the incident would like to hear from anyone with any information.
