TALENTED performers will get the chance to maximise their potential thanks to a new scheme in Suffolk.

Mid Suffolk District Council and Suffolk Coastal District Council are joining forces to run two workshops aimed at theatre groups in the area and individuals with an interest in live performance.

The New Directions workshop will run on Saturday, February 10, and is aimed at directors of theatre companies from villages and towns in the Suffolk area looking for new ideas, inspiration and techniques.

It will include the challenge of staging performances in non-theatre settings, working with a script, character development, mime and movement with comic timing.

This will be followed by a Setting the Scene workshop on Saturday, March 10, which will focus on ideas for anyone who wants to design stage sets and is looking for inspiration and new ideas.

The practical session will look at simple but effective means of creating stage set designs for theatre and non-theatre spaces.

Both workshops will be at Woodbridge School. The New Directions workshop will in the school hall and the Setting the Scene workshop will be at the Seckford Theatre within the school grounds.
