Trains on the Felixstowe branch are being delayed.
A person died after being hit by a train near Felixstowe on Saturday night
British Transport Police were leading the investigation in the incident which happened between 5pm and 6pm on Saturday night.
A train driver on the Ipswich/Felixstowe line reported that someone seemed to have been hit by a train between Trimley and Felixstowe stations.
A bus replacement service was put in operation until the body was removed and the line could be reopened after 8pm.
No one from British Transport Police was available to provide further details.
